I’m so excited to finally be able to share my home office with you! If you follow me on Instagram, you know I have been dropping hints for about a week now, but today I am finally sharing my finished office space! When we first stumbled upon our little apartment, over a year ago, I knew the first place I would want to add some style would be the spare bedroom. As such a creative person, the first idea that came to mind was an office. A space where Tim and I could both work, or at least that was the original idea. . .
As the space developed, we quickly realized there wouldn’t be room for two large desks, and thanks to rock, paper, scissors, I won! Just kidding! It just so happened that Tim was sweet and didn’t say a word about my not so subtle office take over.

It was so important that my office be an inspiring and comfortable place to work, especially since my workspace of choice at the moment is definitely my bed! The palm print wallpaper was the perfect focal point, and the fact that it’s my favorite color certainly doesn’t hurt. I went back and forth for a while with how to bring color into the space in a soft way. I’ve always thought of myself as a color lover, but the more I discover my personal design aesthetic, the more I realize, I actually just like color in small doses. Especially when paired on a backdrop of blacks, whites, greys, and golds!
Another way I love bringing color into spaces is through the details. I went on the search for a mousepad and stumbled across ThePillowGirls shop on Etsy. I immediately fell in love with the look and feel of the shop but couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. After chatting back and forth with Tammy, we collaborated to create this custom painted mouse pad that you can now get in her shop (HERE)! She is so talented, and I absolutely love getting an extra pump of motivation when I sit down and see “Make It Happen” under my hand!

Another great addition to my new workspace, is this great candle from Freshly Scented! There are two things that always make for a productive day in my opinion: a great instrumental playlist and soothing aromas. Stay tuned for my post later this week where I’ll be sharing my thoughts on their candles and a fun surprise!

I knew in a home that would soon represent both of our design styles, it would be important for me to have a space that was all my own. A creative outlet of sorts, where I could blog and explore the things that fuel me. When I walk into this room now, a smile immediately stretches across my face. It is exactly what I had in mind, and needless to say, it has become my favorite room in the house.
Thanks so much for reading! Tell me what you think of my office in the comments below, I’d love to hear! And if you’re looking for some more inspiration for your office, head over to the Shutterfly Home Office Collection for more inspiration featuring some of my favorites!
