I can’t be the only one who has noticed the insane come back of wallpaper lately! It’s like Whitney Houston strong and it got me thinking. . . what is it that has everyone jumping back on the wallpaper bandwagon again?

When I was younger I remember an all out debate on who was going to be stuck peeling off the underwater themed wallpaper from our bathroom walls in the new house we had just moved into. First off this paper was absolutely hideous and we all knew it was going to take a good couple of hours to drench it in a water based solution and peel it off of the walls. Around that time, everyone would cringe at the thought of putting wallpaper on the walls. Why? Mostly, because no one wanted to make that kind of commitment. Not only did it take forever to hang up, but considering the process to get it off, you were pretty much stuck with it.

Fast forward a decade and wallpaper is back with a vengeance, and a genius twist. It’s now removable! Think of the biggest sticker you coveted in elementary school and multiply that times a million. Someone had the amazing idea of translating the science behind a sticker to any size and design you can think of (thank you to whoever you are!). Now, you can bring new life to whatever space you choose (whether you’re a home owner or not), and to make it better? You can change it as often as you want if you’re not much for commitment.
You may have seen my office reveal post (ADD LINK TO OFFICE POST HERE) on Monday where I had my first experience with removable, renters wallpaper, and I have to say I am very pleased! Not only does it go up quickly, with a little bit of practice, but it looks great. And for someone like me who’s design preferences are constantly changing, it’s a great way to test out a pattern without having to paint it back before moving out of my apartment. Whenever we decide to move from this sweet little place, all I’ll have to do is peel it off of the wall and transport it to its new home.

I have to admit I am skeptical about wallpaper but I love the idea of being able to change designs more often. I have seen some great stuff including the wallpaper you featured here. I might even give a try in the near future!
