Tim and I have been committed for a couple months now to doing date nights every Friday. Its been a fun way to get out and explore our city and find new restaurants around us. Hey, I’ll take any excuse to eat more food 🙂 To keep it interesting we switch whose turn it is to plan date night every week. This way we both get to surprise the other person and plan things both of us will enjoy. It’s also been pretty fun to get creative and try to give the other person direction for how to dress without blowing the surprise.
Some nights we go all out and drive out of town to the outdoor movie theater or see a show in town while other nights its fine to just keep it basic with the good ole dinner and a movie combination. Either way, having a designated date night has really helped us to recenter and make sure we spend time together. Its so easy for life to just get in the way sometimes. Before you know it work is busy, the laundry piles up on the couch, and you have a long list of honey dos.
